John McCain bails out on Letterman.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain was scheduled to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday's show. Instead, McCain decided to call Letterman himself at the last minute to cancel because he had to "rush to the airport to fly to Washington to take care of the financial crisis."

That seems understandable, right? Nothing wrong with taking care of your country.

So why is Letterman so upset?

McCain didn't "rush to the airport" like he mentioned. He was caught in the studio of another CBS show getting his make-up done preparing for another interview.
